Sewing and crafting has been in my life since childhood. Once retired, I finally had time for my life long hobby of sewing and also discovered the potential and joy of machine embroidery. With increasing levels of knowledge and skill I began personalising appliquéd t-shirts, book cushions, in the hoop soft toys, zip cases and digitising logos using design software. I am self taught, and made many mistakes along the way resulting in broken needles and wasted fabric. I learned much from on line tutorials / videos, but would have benefitted a great deal more if I could have attended face to face tuition with others.
Wendy
I first started machine embroidery after inheriting my late Mum's machine. I knew very little about it, but successfully embroidered a polar bear on a pair of pyjamas bottoms. I upgraded my machine and began to look for workshops and classes but had no luck in finding any. My knowledge came from trial and error and a lot of wasted fabric ! With this in mind, we decided to run some workshops ourselves with the emphasis on enjoying learning and ensuring that everyone has a completed item to take home. By combining my IT skills, Elaine's sewing skills and both our teaching skills, we are able to offer a range of workshops and retreats to suit both beginners and experienced users.
