About machine-embroideryplus: a business born out of a passion and willingness to share the pleasures of machine embroidery. Elaine and Wendy's expertise and experience of both teaching and technology make an ideal partnership to deliver inspiring, fun filled workshops that will make you want to learn more and more. The (embroidery) 'plus' bit refers to other sewing related opportunities to come later ... but most importantly the 'plus' is about growing a supportive community of like minded  sewers .

 Wendy - having inherited my late mother’s sewing and embroidery machine I embarked upon  a journey inspired by  my first embroidery, a polar bear on some pyjamas!I researched into what was available and the potential of computerised technology  within modern machines. During this time of  learning I looked in vain  for  machine  embroidery workshops, there were none locally which I found frustrating. Whilst there is online information, there is nothing beats face to face learning and support from a workshop.

Elaine - I come from  family of  sisters whose mother passed her sewing skills onto us all. I have sewn form childhood starting with doll’s clothes and them making my own clothes and soft furnishings on a machine I was given for my 21st birthday. Sewing has always been a passion and I love creating. Machine embroidery was a whole new world- being self taught, I have made mistakes along the way resulting in broken needles and wasted fabric. I turned to the internet for information online, how much better would it have been if I had been  in a face to face workshop.
